MY STORY
About Me
Come, sit a spell and listen.
I started using computers at a young age and have been hooked on them and the internet ever since. Surprisingly, I never thought to make it into a career until recently when I completed the Udacity Full Stack Developer course. Now the floodgates are open and all I want to do is create websites and applications.
I lived most of my life in Mississippi working odd jobs and in manufacturing, but then decided in 2012 to make a change and move to New York City. I tried my hand at writing for a while, going so far as writing a very embarrassing adventure novel. Eventually, my savings ran out and I took another job in manufacturing at Makerbot. This was good for a time, but I began to yearn for something more so I jumped at the opportunity to become a Quality engineering job at a startup called Bond.
I enjoyed the creative process of designing systems for the operations team, but it still didn’t quite scratch that creative itch. While there, I took part in a mentorship program that guided me along the path into web design. I met some very smart people and their experiences convinced me that web and software development is what I wanted to do with my life. After that, I took that Udacity course and have now begun my journey into this brave new worl
While the home page of this site is meant to be funny, the pictures of beer are in fact a real thing I make. Brewing has been a hobby of mine for years and I find it really satisfying to see all those bottles of beer on the shelf and have my friends drink and enjoy them.
